Well, I came mainly because they do Invisalign. My other dentist had recommended that my teeth were just all starting to crowd together, and that it made sense to think about it. I was kind of like, “Ah, maybe, maybe.” And I went to a few places just to check out doing Invisalign. That dentist didn’t do it. And then I heard Maggie was coming here, heard they did Invisalign. Decided, “Okay, let’s give it a try.” And I came and I thought, “Okay, this is where I want it to be done.”
Maggie, easy to work with. You know, she was pretty encouraging about it. There were a few times when I thought, “Oh my gosh, you know, 16 months of this?” Because mine went a little bit longer, and I was really a little down in the dumps. Even though it was simple, I was just ready to move on.
A lot of times she would stop as well as Ernie who works here as well, and they would say, “Okay”, you know, I would be bummed out a little bit and they’d show me the progress, they’d show me the photographs, they’d show me what I looked like before, and I thought, “Okay, I’ll stick with it.” So, that’s really helpful when you’re in the middle of sort of a long transformation.
Well you know, I don’t think this hurt. It really didn’t hurt that much. It was a little bit of an adjustment, like all of a sudden you think you’re doing something in your mouth, but I found it almost easier … Once I got used to it I found it was really not all that bad, I mean my teeth felt pretty secure.
When your teeth are crowded, you’re always going like this because there’s junk caught between them, no matter what. So when you have your Invisalign on, obviously you can’t do that because you can’t reach between teeth, it’s all one piece. So it was almost more comfortable putting it on and not always tonguing my teeth. But I guess, I don’t know, I never really even thought of fear with this because it was so simple. I mean I think the biggest fear would be how much time am I wasting going to the dentist, and it really didn’t take that much shop.
