No More Fear Of The Dentist!

dental_anxiety_1 Bell Dental Group | Cincinnati, OH Dentist

Fear of the dentist, or dental anxiety, is very common. By one estimate some 15 percent of the U.S. population suffers from dental anxiety to some degree – from mild nervousness all the way up to a full-blown phobia. At Bell Dental Group in Cincinnati, OH, Dr. Charles Bell and all the staff are committed to helping you have truly relaxed dental appointments. Those aren’t just words – we make relaxed and comfortable dental appointments happen every day for our patients.

It Starts With Our People

Here’s something that we hear from people all the time: “I started to relax the moment I walked into your office.” It’s not an exaggeration to say that our reception area looks more like someone’s living room! And the building that houses our office looks a lot more like someone’s home than an office building.

Help yourself to coffee or another beverage while you wait. We should tell you, though, that we value your time and try our best to have every appointment start on time. If you need a little time to settle before your appointment, we’ll make that happen.

When Your Appointment Begins

The first thing we want to do once you’re in the dental chair is to listen to any concerns you might have. We understand dental anxiety, and we maintain a strict “no judgment” policy. We’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have. We’ll even provide you with a warm blanket and pillow if you like.

If you’d care for something else to focus on during your appointment, you’ll be glad to know that we have television screens and headphones in every care room. Listen to music or watch a program during your appointment.

Another thing – and this is really important – is that nothing begins until you tell us that the area we’re going to focus on is completely numb. We know that some people respond differently to local anesthesia, so you decide when we can begin. And for those who dislike needles (and honestly, who likes them?), our computer-assisted anesthesia delivery system will numb your mouth painlessly!

Need A Little More?

For good reasons, many people completely dread a dental appointment. Usually, this is due to poor experience with another dentist. For these people, comfort measures may not be enough, which is why we’re proud to offer two levels of dental sedation to help you relax. You can choose from inhaled sedation, which has been safely used in dentistry for nearly a century, or oral sedation which causes a much deeper level of relaxation. Please note that you’ll need to ask for oral sedation in advance and have someone drive you to and from your appointment if you choose oral sedation.

We Make Dental Anxiety A Thing Of The Past

We invite you to discover the difference that a truly caring dental staff makes, accompanied by comfort measures and dental sedation as needed. You’ll see that you can have the dental care you need regardless of any dental anxiety you might have.
