Replace Missing Teeth with Strong, Lasting Dental Implants
Implants are sort of the gold standard of replacing teeth because they’re the closest that we can get to your natural tooth. So when you’re missing a tooth, the surgeon has usually taken out the crown part of the tooth and the root, and what an implant does is it restores both of those without damaging any adjacent teeth. So the implant goes into the bone of the tooth, acts as that root, and then the crown goes on top.
It looks like a tooth, it feels like a tooth, you brush it and you floss it sort of all the same, and that’s the closest that we can get to what was missing originally. Dental implants are great because they can improve the function of the oral cavity. So when you are missing teeth, you don’t have a great ability to chew sometimes, and so those dental implants can act as an anchor to really fill those spaces and kind of get your mouth back to premium health and function.
Getting a patient back to full function can often mean the world to them. You know, when you’re missing a tooth, you have to consciously think about where you’re eating and what you’re eating, and when we’re able to restore a patient back to optimum health where they have, you know, missing teeth are replaced with implants, then they don’t have to think about that anymore. They can go enjoy dinner at a restaurant with friends and not have to worry about, you know, can I eat something that’s on the menu or not.
