So, a lot of people are anxious when they come to the dentist. Again, it's a very personal experience, and so a lot of people are nervous about that. We start to combat the anxiety just with knowledge. I always think, ‘If you understand what I'm doing, then you're going to be less anxious about it.’ So, one thing we do is I will kind of talk you through all the steps of the procedure. We also have an intraoral camera, so I can show you exactly what I am seeing. I can take a picture of your tooth and put it on a TV screen, and you can see what the tooth looks like before if you want to, kind of during and kind of after so that you can feel the most comfortable with the work that we're getting done.
We do also offer some light sedation in the office. We do have (inaudible) here if that does help so that you're sort of less anxious.
We also have (inaudible), which is the laughing gas. A lot of times I find if we can make the patient feel comfortable, once you get to know me and sort of trust me and kind of, we sort of work as a team, it kind of really helps relieve that anxiety.
If you need a tooth filling, you won’t have to put up with the sound or pain you might associate with this restorative dentistry treatment because we use drill-free air abrasion to remove many instances of tooth decay. We can even painlessly numb your mouth, thanks to our computer-assisted anesthesia delivery system!
