School is just around the corner. You know what that means, don’t you? Your kids will be busy with homework, extracurricular activities, and all manner of other events.

Why run yourself ragged when you don’t have to? Now is a perfect time to schedule your kids’ checkups before they’re back in full activity mode. Give us a call today at 513-802-9440 and one of our friendly team members will be glad to assist you.

In case you’re new to Bell Dental Group, below we give you the rundown on what you can expect when you bring your child in to see one of our dentists. We think that our personalized treatment, honesty, and attention to detail help us stand apart from the pack!

We Go Above & Beyond

Most people expect to get a teeth cleaning and a dental exam at their checkup. And that’s all that many dentist offices offer their patients. However, at Bell Dental Group, Drs. Bell, Bell, and Ernst believe in giving our patients more.

That’s why your child’s initial appointment with us will probably last around two hours! We allocate one hour with our dentist and one hour with our hygienist. Not only will they receive a thorough teeth cleaning and polishing, we’ll also give them one of the most all-inclusive dental exams around.

It’s, of course, a given that we’ll check for cavities. Our DIAGNOdent cavity detection system uses light to catch minute traces of decay, well before it can be seen with the naked eye. Early detection means more efficient treatment and less chance of smile damage.

However, our exam will also check for gum disease and oral cancer. If we see any signs of these conditions, we’ll make recommendations accordingly. We want to help you and your child maintain the healthiest, brightest smiles possible.

We’ll also take a set of digital X-rays for an up-close look at your child’s teeth roots, bones, and nerves. Plus, these X-rays will expose your child to only a small fraction of the amount of radiation of standard X-rays, which will give you more peace of mind about their health and well-being.

We Offer Comprehensive Preventive Dental Care For Your Child

Depending on the results of your child’s exam, we may recommend one or more preventive dentistry treatments. Dental sealants form a protective barrier between your teeth and disease-causing bacteria. A thin layer of plastic will help keep teeth clean and decay-free.

Fluoride treatments and varnishes may be recommended to help prevent cavities. Fluoride remineralizes tooth enamel to make it stronger and more resistant to cavities. Fluoride has even been shown to reverse early-stage decay when applied directly to the teeth.

If your child is an athlete, we’ll most likely recommend that you have a custom mouthguard made for them. The American Dental Association (ADA) says that athletes who don’t wear mouth protection are 60 times more likely to suffer dental damage than those who do.

Our professionally made mouthguards will outperform store-bought appliances in every way. Not only will they provide better protection, but since they’re custom-fitted, they’ll be more comfortable. They will also last longer than so-called boil-and-bite mouthguards.

Hopefully, your child’s dental exam comes out A-OK, but if it doesn’t, you can feel confident in the dentists at Bell Dental Group to provide them the treatment they need.
